Because building a life you love shouldn't require having it all figured out first.
The woman behind The Starting Edit, a serial idea-haver, lifelong learner, wife, mom, and someone who took a surprisingly long time to realize that maybe I wasn't meant to fit into a traditional career.
And trust me, I tried.
At 19, I was running my own sales office, training around 30 people a week, and winning awards.
How did I get there? By selling knives. Yes, knives. 😂
College had been the original plan, but life threw me a curveball, and I had to figure out another way forward. Turns out, I had a pretty natural knack for business.
But eventually, I traded entrepreneurship for the stability of corporate America.
I spent years working in banking, management, contracts, and Fortune 500 companies. I climbed the ladder, earned promotions, and built what looked like a pretty successful career.
The problem?
I kept thinking the next position would be the one. The job that finally made everything click.
Spoiler alert: It never was.
After becoming a mom, I stepped away from corporate life for several years. That chapter came with some pretty significant mental health challenges, and honestly, figuring out how to navigate anxiety, depression, and ADHD while trying to build a life I loved wasn't easy.
Eventually, I returned to the corporate world, hoping to find that stability I'd been missing.
Instead, I found myself in environments that took a serious toll on my mental health and challenged some of my deepest personal values.
And one day, I realized something.
I was really, really good at building a career.
I've always loved business, technology, and figuring out how things work.
But discovering AI opened doors I genuinely didn't know existed.
Suddenly, I had tools to help me organize my million ideas, learn new skills, create content, build systems, and actually bring things to life.
And as someone with ADHD? Having that kind of support was HUGE.
No, AI doesn't do everything for me. And no, entrepreneurship isn't magically easy.
But the barriers that once made starting and running a business feel overwhelming suddenly became a whole lot smaller.
I started realizing just how many opportunities exist today for someone willing to learn, get creative, and give something a try.
And I couldn't stop thinking...
I created The Starting Edit because I know what it's like to want something different and have absolutely no idea where to begin.
